Jets at the 2012 IIHF World Championships
MAY 12, 2012 CANADA 8, KAZAKSTAN 0
Team Canada didn't have too much trouble getting past Kazakstan on Saturday afternoon, coming away with an 8-0 victory to confirm a quarter-finals date on Thursday.

Canada did not hold back on the shot clock as they fired 58 shots on Kazakstan while Edmonton Oilers goaltender Devan Dubnyk stopped all 24 shots he faced to earn his first ever shut out at the World Championships.

Canada improves its record to 5-0-1-0, good for 16 points. They have two days off before finishing its round robin with a game against Belarus on Tuesday.

Evander Kane picked up his third goal and fifth point of the tournament 2:57 into the third period against Kazakstan after accepting a nice feed from Corey Perry. Through six games played, Kane has 23 shots on goal and is holding a plus-5 with a total of 89:24 minutes of ice time played.
