Maxwell activated from injured reserve; Hainsey placed on injured reserve

The Winnipeg Jets today announced today they have activated centre Ben Maxwell from the Injured Reserve List. Maxwell was placed on the IR on Sept. 28 with an upper body injury. The Jets have now placed defenceman Ron Hainsey on the Injured Reserve List, retroactive to Oct. 17, with an upper body injury.
Maxwell is set to appear in his first Winnipeg Jets game tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes. The North Vancouver, BC native appeared in 12 games with the Atlanta Thrashers last season for two points (1g, 1a) and nine penalty minutes. He played the majority of the 2010-11 campaign with the Hamilton Bulldogs where he racked up 40 points (11g, 29a) in 47 games.
Hainsey appeared in four games with the Winnipeg Jets this season collecting two assists and six penalty minutes. The 30 year-old defenceman did not dress on Oct. 19/11 at Toronto marking the end of his streak of 155 games played. He appeared in 82 games last season with the Atlanta Thrashers, earning 19 points (3g, 16a) and 24 penalty minutes. Hainsey has played in a career 492 NHL games for 171 points (34g, 137a) and 244 penalty minutes.
