CAN 5, CZE 0
Eleven different Canadian players (four different goal scorers) tallied points for Team Canada as the red and white skated their way to a 5-0 victory over the Czech Republic on Wednesday night.
Mark Scheifele scored his first and second goals of the WJC for Canada and both in the same period, as he connected both times with his Barrie Colts teammate Tanner Pearson in the third.
Mark Stone, Ryan Strome and Brett Connolly added the other three.
Canada goaltender Scott Wedgewood, making his U20 debut, was excellent tonight adding a key assist in his own shutout as he stopped all 26 shots he faced.
The Chech's were very much in this game as it was still a one-goal game through the first 36 minutes of the game.
Canada continues its Group B play tomorrow against Denmark while the Czechs will play the United States.
