Winnipeg Jets prospect profile of goaltender Edward Pasquale currently playing for the St. John\'s IceCaps of the AHL
Edward Pasquale

HEIGHT: 6'2" | WEIGHT: 218 LBS.
BORN: NOV 20, 1990
BIRTHPLACE: TORONTO, ON
CURRENT TEAM: ST. JOHN'S (AHL)
Like many young goaltenders, Edward Pasquale was thrust into the crease by an older sibling looking for shooting practice. Growing up in Toronto, the younger Pasquale would man the net for his older brother in driveway road hockey. The wrist shots came a little harder when Edward was 11-years-old; the Pasquales billeted St. Michael’s Majors centre Darryl Boyce (currently of the Toronto Marlies). Boyce would jump in on the road hockey shootout, adding to Pasquale’s welts.

Pasquale started his OHL career appearing in seven games in a brief stint with the Belleville Bulls in the 2006-07 season, winning four games. Edward started the next season with the Bulls, ready to make an impact, however Belleville had a glut of goaltending talent and Pasquale split time with Mike Murphy (drafted by Carolina in sixth round of 2008 draft).

In December 2007, Pasquale was traded to the Saginaw Spirit. In three seasons with the Spirit, Edward appeared in 125 regular season games with a record of 67-43-11.

After his first full season with the Saginaw Spirit, Edward caught the eye of the Atlanta Thrashers scouts. Pasquale was selected in the fourth round, 117 overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He made his professional debut last season with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL, playing in 24 contests with the Wolves, and also seeing action in 12 games with the ECHL’s Gwinnett Gladiators.

Pasquale is a big goaltender with great positional play, a quick glove hand and a very calm demeanor.
He has evenly split starts with fellow IceCaps’ goalies David Aebischer and Peter Mannino.
