COMPLETE STANDINGS

Another win by the Buffalo Sabres last night has pushed them more securely into the eight spot in the Eastern Confernce with 84 points. The Winnipeg Jets are now six points out of a potential playoff spot after their recent road slide. Sitting in tenth position with 78 points, the Jets playoff prospects are slim, but there still is a chance.

Winnipeg will be in action next on Monday night when they return to the comforts of MTS Centre, hosting the seventh place Ottawa Senators.

Notes: With their 4-1 win over Montreal, the Philadelphia Flyers clinched a playoff spot. Currently with 96 points, the Flyers are the third Altantic Division team to punch their ticket to the post-season... The 3-2 victory over the Colorado Avlanche clinched the Northwest Division crown and a playoff berth for the Vancouver Canucks...

YESTERDAY'S GAMES:

Winnipeg Jets 1, Nashville Predators 3

Aided by the great play of goaltender Ondrej Pavelec, the Jets were able to play a decent road game in Nashville on Saturday night. They kept the game close, played the Predators hard, and kept Nashville's top-rated powerplay off the board, but their efforts weren't enough as the Jets were dropped by the Predators.

Minnesota Wild 1, Buffalo Sabres 3

The Buffalo Sabres continue to be red-hot as they dropped the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night. The Sabres have now won four straight and have won seven of their last ten match-ups. Unfortunately for the Jets, the Sabres are not providing any help in the playoff race.

The Washington Capitals are back in action on Sunday afternoon as they host the Minnesota Wild.
