Jets re-assign Machacek and Cormier to IceCaps
The Winnipeg Jets today announced they have re-assigned forwards Spencer Machacek and Patrice Cormier to the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League.
Machacek, 23, played in 13 games with the Winnipeg Jets this season. In that time, he recorded nine points (2G, 7A) and seven penalty minutes. He recorded his first NHL point with an assist on Mar. 18/12 and his first NHL goal on Mar. 23/12. He will return to the IceCaps where he has played in 58 games for 48 points (17G, 31A) and 48 penalty minutes. He has played in 25 career NHL games between Atlanta and Winnipeg for nine career points (2G, 7A) and seven career penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the third round, 67th overall, IN THE 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Cormier, 21, has played in nine games with the Winnipeg Jets this season. He will return to the IceCaps where he has appeared in 54 games. In that time, the left-handed centre has recorded 31 points (17G, 14A) and 71 penalty minutes. He has played in 30 career NHL games between Atlanta and Winnipeg for two career points (1G, 1A) and four career penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the second round, 54th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
