Jets Announce National Broadcast Schedule

The Winnipeg Jets in conjunction with the National Hockey League today announced their national television broadcast schedule for the 2012-13 NHL season.

Once again, all Winnipeg Jets games will be televised this season. For the second year in a row, the Jets first game of the season will be featured on CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada as they host the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, Oct. 13th at 1:00 pm CT. The Jets will appear on HNIC 21 times in total this season (14 games at MTS Centre, seven away games), including nine Southeast Divisional match-ups and three games against Original Six teams (vs. Detroit - Oct. 27th, @ Boston - Nov. 17th, and vs. Montreal – Feb. 17th) and five games against Canadian teams (vs. Ottawa – Jan. 19th, vs. Vancouver – Feb. 9th, vs. Montreal – Feb. 17th, vs. Ottawa – March 16th, @ Ottawa – April 13th).

The Jets will also play five games on TSN’s national network this season (three at home, two on the road) including two games against their division rival, the Washington Capitals, and one versus the Toronto Maple Leafs on Feb. 13th.

All remaining Winnipeg Jets games will be regionally televised this season – including the seven exhibition games - on TSN Jets featuring the voice of the Jets, Dennis Beyak. The Jets broadcast region includes all of the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan along with parts of Northwestern Ontario including Kenora, Dryden and Thunder Bay. All 82 games, including the seven exhibition games, can also be heard on the radio on TSN 1290 with play-by-play voice of Brian Munz and the support of former Stanley Cup champion Shane Hnidy.
