Winnipeg Jets Hit the Classroom for Reading Takes Flight
The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, in conjunction with I Love to Read Month, is pleased to launch Reading Takes Flight, a program designed to positively encourage children to develop an interest in reading. Jets players will be visiting different schools throughout the city during the month of February to roll out the program.
During their school visits, players will be reading the official Winnipeg Jets children’s storybook “The Home Team” to classes of students from grade 1 to grade 6. Classes will be selected based on a 500 words or less submission as to why the Jets should visit your classroom. In addition to the visit, there are also a number of prizes to be handed out along with a short autograph session for the students involved.
All 500 word submissions need to be entered at www.winnipegjets.com/readingtakesflight by Wednesday, February 6, 2013.
All responses will be entered into a draw for the opportunity to have Winnipeg Jets players visit your classroom. Only the winning classrooms will be contacted. The draw date will occur on Monday, February 11, 2013.
