The Winnipeg Jets (12-11-2) return home after a four-game road swing to face the Toronto Maple Leafs (15-10-1) at MTS Centre on Tuesday night.

The Winnipeg Jets (12-11-2) return home after a four-game road swing to face the Toronto Maple Leafs (15-10-1) at MTS Centre on Tuesday night. This is the second of three meetings between the clubs this season, and the second in Winnipeg. In the previous meeting on Feb. 7, Matt Frattin and Phil Kessel scored less than a minute apart late in the third period to top the Jets 3-2. The Jets are coming off a road trip that saw them go 2-1-1. The Maple Leafs bring an impressive 9-5-0 road record into Winnipeg. The final meeting between the clubs will take place this Saturday in Toronto.

Starting LIneup: Evander Kane, Olli Jokinen, Antti Miettinen, Grant Clitsome, Dustin Byfuglien and Ondrej Pavelec in net.

Burmistrov is not in the lineup tonight                                                            @saraorlesky

2:46: Chris Thorburn and Colton Orr dropped the gloves  to get this crowd off on the right foot. The bout was a lengthy one with each player landing a handful of punches. Thorburn was backed into the boards and ended up falling backwards onto his knees which ended the fight. Each went off for fighting majors.

5:22 Mark Fraser took the first minor penalty of the night for interference putting the Jets on a 4-3 power play, and they made the Leafs pay for it.

6:06: JETS GOAL: Dustin Byfuglien wound up and blasted a slap shot from the point that went off Nik Antropov's body at the post and flew past James Reimer. Kyle Wellwood picked up the second assist on Antropov's 2nd goal of the season.

11:23: The two captains Andrew Ladd and Dion Phaneuf, dropped the gloves which ended up being a fairly even tilt between the two, however in the end, it was Phaneuf hauling Ladd down on his back to end the fight. Phaneuf picked up an extra two minutes for roughing on top of the five minute major.

3:37: Ondrej Pavelec made his best save of the night as he absolutely robbed Michael Kostka on a hard wrist shot right on target from 30 feet out, inside the right circle.

Shots through 20 minutes were 11-9 Jets.

Pavelectricity gets this crowd to its feet as Ondrej Pavelec flashes the glove and the 15,004 at the MTS Centre get to their feet.                                                             @IllegalCurve

0:38: Phil Kessel ties the game just after puck drop as he marched into the Jets zone and fired a hard wrist shot that just beat Pavelec.

1:03: JETS GOAL: Blake Wheeler answers back for the Jets. He raced back down the other end, put on the brakes, and sent a nice pass to Little streaking in on net. Little blasted a shot that was spit out by Reimer. Wheeler got his stick on it and sent it into the empty net.

8:05: Byfuglien and Kadri each took roughing penalties as things began to heat up in the second period after all 10 players on the ice ended up in a pushing and shoving match in the corner beside Pavelec.

10:43: JETS GOAL: Kyle Wellwood widened the gap to 3-1 after Byfuglien sent him a perfect cross-crease pass onto his tape at the back door. The play started with Antropov digging the puck out of the corner and sending a nice backhand pass to Byfuglien at the right post. Instead of shooting, Byfuglien saw Wellwood wide open and connected with him to tap home the goal.

Wellwood was good on the whole road trip and Noel has been increasing his playing time and PP time. Good payoff for                                                           @TedWyman

Shots through two periods were 23-18 favouring the home team Jets. Hits were 19-16 Leafs.

Jets look good so of their best efforts of the season.                                                           @pwilliamsNHL

11:16 JETS GOAL: Evander Kane notched his 11th of the season raising every fan in the MTS Centre to their feet on a beautiful goal. Kane stole the puck away from Kadri in the neutral zone and ran with it two steps ahead. On a clean breakaway, Kane made no mistake winding up and firing up and over Reimers glove top shelf. Antropov picks up his third point of the night with the assist.

12:53: JETS GOAL: Blake Wheeler tallied his second goal of the game after Eric Tangradi fired him a nice cross ice feed along the boards as he was charging across the blueline. Wheeler danced around and released a hard shot that found it's way through the legs of Ben Scrivens. 4-1 Jets.

13:14: The Leafs weren't going away as Kessel answered back with his second of the night 21 seconds later. After a funny bounce off a Korbinian Holzer blast from the point, Kessel was at the post to pick up the bounce and sneak it past Pavelec. 5-2 Jets.

The Jets defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs by a 5-2 final. Shots through 60 minutes were 34-26 Jets.
