PrintThe St. John’s IceCaps today announced they have signed forward Vinny Saponari to an amateur tryout contract.
Saponari, 23, played 34 games with Northeastern University this season, scoring seven goals and 29 points in 34 games. The Powder Springs, GA native led the team in assists with 22 and placed second in scoring.
The six-foot-one, 195-pounder was chosen in the fourth round (94th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers.
