The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have recalled forward Aaron Gagnon from the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League.
Gagnon, 26, has compiled 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points in 43 games for St. John’s this season, including 23 points in 18 contests since returning from injury on Feb. 10. Due to his recent success, Gagnon was named CCM AHL Player of the Month for March 2013. The Quesnel, B.C. native, has tallied 74 goals and 98 assists for 172 points in 328 career AHL games during his six professional seasons, and reached the Calder Cup Finals with Texas in 2010.
Gagnon has played in 28 career NHL games between Dallas and Winnipeg where he has earned two assists. He was originally drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the eighth round, 240th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
