The Jets return home to take on the Flyers in a Saturday afternoon battle.

GAME PREVIEW

The Winnipeg Jets (18-19-2) and Philadelphia Flyers (17-17-3) are both sitting just outside the Eastern Conference playoff picture entering their third and final meeting of the regular season on Saturday. The Jets have lost five straight, dropping from the third seed down to 10th in the East on Thursday. The Flyers were 14th in the Eastern Conference on Mar. 30, but have since won four straight to sit in 11th place. One year after the Jets went 3-0-1 against the Flyers, their fortunes have reversed. The Flyers have taken both meetings between the clubs this season with a 3-2 win in Winnipeg on Feb. 12 and a 5-3 decision on Feb. 23 in Philadelphia.

FIRST PERIOD

Starting Lineup: Bryan Little, Andrew Ladd, Blake Wheeler, Rob Hainsey, Zach Bogosian and Ondrej Pavelec.

The MTS Centre is electric this afternoon. Will the team help the crowd sustain this high level? We shall see soon enough.            @IllegalCurve
11:07: FLYERS GOAL: Ruslan Fedotenko put the Flyers on the board just past the midway mark of the opening period as he tipped home a shot from Kent Huskins on the point. 1-0 Flyers.

First period comes to an end with the Jets trailing the Flyers 1-0. Shots on net are 13-4.

SECOND PERIOD

#NHLJets have had 5 shots in the first 5 mins of 2nd. Had 4 shots all first period.            @RickRalphTSN
12:38: JETS GOAL: Grant Clitsome ties things up on the power play for the Jets after Bryan Little sent a nice cross-ice feed onto Clitsome's stick in the slot to wire the puck into the back of the net.

13:05: JETS GOAL: Kyle Wellwood scores another power play goal to give the Jets their first lead of the night just 27 seconds after the tying goal. Evander Kane attempted a wrap around but the puck trickled out in front of Ilya Bryzgalov and Wellwood was there to shovel home the rebound.

just got pretty loud up in here. best period #nhljets have played in about two weeks            @garylawless

14:44: JETS GOAL: Evander Kane scores his 14th goal of the season and increased the Jets lead to 3-1 after Mike Santorelli made a nice play driving to the net trying to sneak the puck in at the post.  The puck spit out for Kane in front to snap the puck past Bryzgalov.

19:06: JETS GOAL: Bryan Little widens the gap to 4-1 as he sent a hard wrist shot past Bryzgalov after Blake Wheeler dished him a nice backhand feed at the blueline.

At the end of the 2nd period, #NHLJets lead #Flyers 4-1. SOG: 18-16 for Flyers. "After 40" with @RickRalphTSN is up next on TSN 1290.            @TSN1290Radio

Through two periods, the Jets have a demanding 4-1 lead over the Flyers. Shots are 18-16 Flyers.

THIRD PERIOD

Steve Mason is in net to start the third period for the Flyers.

2:03: Chris Thorburn and Jay Rosehill drop the gloves at centre ice early in the third period to keep the crowd involved and add some energy to both benches. Both would sit for five minutes.

This game is getting rough. Hartnell nails Blake Wheeler and then Bogo takes a penalty after going at Hartnell. Big PK here for Winnipeg.            @ICEzzyG

Time counted down on the third period and the Jets would soar to a 4-1 final over the Philadelphia Flyers to take back their Southeast Division lead and snap a five-game losing skid.
