Andrew Ladd Named NHL "First Star" of the Week
The Winnipeg Jets hockey club in conjunction with the National Hockey League is proud to announce that forward Andrew Ladd has been named the NHL ‘First Star’ of the Week ending Apr. 21/13.
Ladd, the Winnipeg Jets’ captain, earned eight points (2g, 6a) and a pair of shootout goals in his last three games helping his team to a 2-0-1 record. The Maple Ride, BC native is currently riding a career-best seven-game point streak during which time he’s scored four goals and had at least one assist in every game, totaling 10 over the streak.
In being honoured by the NHL, Ladd joins the Rangers’ Brad Richards and Sharks’ Logan Couture, respectively named the second and third stars of the week.
Ladd, 27, currently leads the Jets in scoring on the season with 46 points (18G, 28A) through 45 games played. He leads the team in both goals and assists, and is tied for the team lead in game winning goals with four. During this past week, Ladd recorded his 300th NHL point on April 18th versus Carolina with an assist versus his former team.
