Jets hire Jason King as IceCaps assistant coach
The Winnipeg Jets are pleased to announce they have hired Jason King as an Assistant Coach for the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League. He will join Head Coach Keith McCambridge and Assistant Coach Mark Morrison on the IceCaps bench.
King, 31, played for the IceCaps for the past two seasons. During that time, the right-winger played in 79 games with the club for 45 career points (23G, 22A) and 40 career penalty minutes. He also played four seasons with the Manitoba Moose from 2002 to 2006. In his time in Winnipeg, King played 191 games with the Moose for 149 career points (77G, 72A) and 77 career penalty minutes.
The Corner Brook, NFLD native has played in 59 career NHL games between Vancouver and Anaheim for 23 career points (12G, 11A) and eight career penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the seventh round, 212th overall, in the 2011 NHL Draft.
