There are just two games remainging in pre-season and both are coming against the Bruins. The first is tonight at the MTS Centre followed by the back-to-back Friday night in Saskatoon, SK.

The Jets are down to 26 players after reassigning Adam Lowry, Eric O'Dell, Ivan Telegin and Andrew Gordon (pending waivers) to St. John's and returning Josh Morrissey to his respective WHL Prince Albert Raiders team on Tuesday. Most recently, the Jets also reassigned goaltender Eddie Pasquale to join the IceCaps in St.John's.

Today on-ice, all 26 players were skating. There were nine defence, 15 forwards and two goaltenders. Claude Noel said they will try to get as close to the regular season lineup as possible for tomorrow's game. For tonight, it's one last chance for a few bubble-players to strut their stuff and show they deserve to make this roster.

"We're going to try to get as close as we can tomorrow," said Noel. "We were hoping to do that today but it was depending on nagging injuries, that's one of the problems we face.  You have to decide are you going to put your lineup for exhibition or look to be healthy for the regular season. That's the ball we have to juggle."

UP FRONT: Blake Wheeler was sporting a red no-contact jersey today during the pre-game skate and is reported to be day-to-day. With that said, Coach Noel hinted to media that Bryan Little and Andrew Ladd also would not play tonight, leaving the following assumed (from the morning skate) lines:

9-12-67
17-55-40
27-19-22
15-28-14

BLUELINE: Zach Bogosian will not play tonight as he is also day-to-day with a minor injury. Which six of the remaining eight defensemen will have to wait until game time.

GOALTENDING: Ondrej Pavelec will get his second start in net tonight against the Bruins tonight with Al Montoya backing him up.

BRUINS NOTABLES

Niklas Svedberg will get his first start in net tonight to show the Bruins coaches what he can do after being named the AHL Goalie of the Year last season in Providence. Svedberg played half of an earlier pre-season game that resulted in a Bruins 3-2 shootout win over the Caps in Baltimore (Rask played the first half). He stopped 12 of 13 shots through regulation and overtime.

"He’s getting a full game [Thursday]," Bruins Head Coach Claude Julien told media following the team's skate at TD Garden on Wednesday, before making the trip north of the border.

"And that means that we still have to look at him closely and decide which one of the two we’re going to start with."
