Winnipeg Jets Hit the Classroom for Reading Takes Flight
The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, in conjunction with I Love to Read Month, is pleased to once again participate in Reading Takes Flight, a program designed to positively encourage children to develop an interest in reading. Jets players will be visiting different schools throughout the city on Tuesday, February 25, 2014.
During their school visits, players will be reading the official Winnipeg Jets children’s storybook “The Home Team” to classes of students from grade 1 to grade 6. In order to assist in making our selection to send a representative from the Winnipeg Jets to your school, please explain in 300 words or less, why your class would like to host a member of the Winnipeg Jets to read to your students. All submissions must be entered at winnipegjets.com/readingtakesflight. Deadline for submissions is Friday, February 14th, 2014. In addition to the visit, each player will donate their Jets jersey to the winning classroom, as well as numerous Jets themed prizes. There will also be a short autograph session for the students involved.
Only the winning classrooms will be contacted. The draw date will occur on Monday, February 17, 2014. For further information, please visit www.winnipegjets.com.
