Jets agree to terms with Albert, Cormier & O\'Dell
The Winnipeg Jets today announced they have agreed to terms with forwards John Albert, Patrice Cormier, and Eric O\u2019Dell.

The Winnipeg Jets today announced they have agreed to terms with forwards John Albert, Patrice Cormier, and Eric O’Dell.

Albert, 25, has agreed to a one year, two-way contract worth $585,000. Last season, the forward played in nine games with the Winnipeg Jets including his NHL debut on Dec. 2/14 @ NYR where he recorded his first NHL goal. The Cleveland, OH native appeared in 63 games with the IceCaps last season where he earned 45 points (28G, 17A) and 20 penalty minutes. He also played 21 playoff games with the AHL club for seven points (1G, 6A) and 18 penalty minutes. Albert was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the sixth round, 175th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Cormier, 24, has agreed to a one year, two-way contract worth $625,000. Last season, the native of Moncton, NB, played in one game with the Jets where he collected three assists and seven penalty minutes. He has now appeared in 49 career games in the NHL with Atlanta/Winnipeg where he’s scored five points (1G,4A) and collected 18 penalty minutes. He played 61 games with St. John’s last year where he earned 26 points (9G, 17A) and 98 penalty minutes. The left-handed centre also appeared in 21 postseason games for seven points (2G, 5A) and 22 penalty minutes with the IceCaps. He was originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the second round, 54th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

O’Dell, 24, has agreed to a one year, two-way contract worth $650,000. The right-handed forward appeared in 30 games with the Winnipeg Jets last season where he earned seven points (3G, 4A) and 10 penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut on Dec. 17/13 @ BUF and then scored his first NHL goal Jan. 13/14 vs. PHX in a 5-1 victory. The Ottawa, ON native played the remainder of the season with the IceCaps appearing in 42 games for 42 points (17G, 25A) and 35 penalty minutes. He played 21 games during the club’s Calder Cup Final playoff run where he scored 14 points (9G, 5A) and 20 penalty minutes. O’Dell was originally drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the second round, 39th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
