
Ryan Bowness enters his second season with the Winnipeg Jets as the Manager of Hockey Operations & Team Services. He came to Winnipeg from the Atlanta Thrashers where he was the Manager of Player Development and Hockey Administration.Prior to joining the Thrashers in December of 2009, Bowness most recently competed with the Ontario Reign of the ECHL for one season following a four-year collegiate career at Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. From 2000-04, Bowness spent four seasons in the OHL competing with the Brampton Battalion and was named the team's captain for the 2003-04 season. During his time with the Battalion, he was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the eighth round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
Bowness was recognized as the third youngest individual in the Hockey News 2011 Top 40 Under 40; 100 People of Power & Influence issue. Bowness graduated from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia with a degree in business.
Bowness is the son of former Winnipeg Jets player and coach Rick Bowness, who is currently the Associate Coach with the Vancouver Canucks.
