After initial involvement working for a venture capital firm, and then as a consultant to True North, John Olfert transitioned into True North in a full-time capacity in 2002, initially as Chief Financial Officer, and then Chief Operating Officer in 2006.  Since joining True North, Olfert has provided financial and operating leadership for the MTS Centre, the Manitoba Moose, the MTS Iceplex and now the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club – during their respective phases of due diligence, development, and implementation.  

Olfert holds a B.A. from the University of Winnipeg, and is a Certified General Accountant.  In addition to serving the charitable and sports community in Winnipeg on a variety of boards, and coaching a host of amateur teams – John has been a board member on the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation, formerly the Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation since 2005.
