JETS IN THE COMMUNITY
Each and every season, True North Sports & Entertainment has worked hard to put together teams filled with players whose talent is matched, if not exceeded, by their character.
An integral part of that character is their commitment to our community. As a result, our players, sponsors, management, and staff work together throughout the season ton various initiatives to improve and support those who support us each and every day.
The Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation is the charitable arm of the Winnipeg Jets, and ‘charity of choice’ for the MTS Centre and MTS IcePlex. The Foundation allows players, their partners, coaches, board members, and True North staff to contribute to the community of Manitoba in a concerted and centralized manner.
Mick E. Moose, the official team mascot of the Winnipeg Jets, makes a number of apperances in the community throughout the year. To request an appearance by Mick E. Moose at your next event, fill out the Mascot Appearance Request Form. Appearance requests must be submitted at least two weeks prior to your event.
This program provides Timbits Hockey and Ringette players (ages 4-6) the opportunity of a lifetime to experience playing in front of an NHL crowd at the MTS Centre. Twelve Timbits hockey teams and four ringette teams will be randomly selected to play during the intermission at a Winnipeg Jets home game.
Your child could skate away with an incredible hockey experience. A roaring crowd, dazzling lights, and a string of hockey heroes behind you. That's the thrill of leading the Winnipeg Jets onto the ice, and this is how your little hockey fan can win the chance to live it.
The Manitoba Lotteries Flight Deck is a charitable initiative intended to support youth involved in amateur athletics throuhougt Manitoba, and to recognize the volunteer efforts of their coaches and assistant coaches. The program is open to youth 8 to 17 years in age involved in all areas of sport in Manitoba.
The Esso Game Day Skate is a unique opportunity for minor hockey teams to observe a real NHL practice, gaining valuable insight about what it takes to play your best, all while helping to support minor hockey in Manitoba. You and your team could see the Jets put through a real practice by their coaches as they prepare for battle.
Winnipeg Jets forward Jim Slater could come and visit you at work! You know what Jim Slater does for a living, now Jim wants to see what you do for your living. Jim Slater is looking for some of the hardest working Winnipeg Jets fans who want to host Jim at work for a visit.
50/50 draws are made at every Winnipeg Jets home game and other events at MTS Centre. Half of the gross revenue from 50/50 ticket sales will be awarded as the prize, and proceeds from the 50/50 draw go to support the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation.
The True North Hockey Academy provides opportunities to children who have few, if any, other recreational options. The mandate of the program is to level the playing field for underprivileged children by providing them with the chance to play hockey while surrounded by their peers and positive role models.
