QUOTE OF THE GAME:
"I'm really proud of how the team played on this road trip because it wasn't an easy situation for us after those games at home. We can beat anybody if we put in 60 minute efforts, and that's what we did on this road trip..."
- Ondrej Pavelec

NEXT GAME:

The Jets wrapped up their final game of their road trip in the win column and head home to take on the NJ Devils on Thursday, February 28th. Watch the game on TSN Jets or listen to TSN Radio 1290. Game time is 7:00 PM.

The Winnipeg Jets wrapped up their final game of the five-game road-trip in New York, against the Rangers, and they wrapped it up in fashion with a 4-3 victory.

It was the two goals by Olli Jokinen in the second period and the two goals and assist from Evander Kane that propelled the Jets past the Rangers in Madison Square Garden Tuesday night. Kane is now riding an eight-game point streak, notching six goals and four assists.

Anthony Peluso picked up his first two points as a Jet with a pair of helpers.

Ryan Callahan, Taylor Pyatt, and Anton Stralman tallied for the Rangers in the loss.

Ondrej Pavelec, made his eighth consecutive start, made 30 saves for the win, while Henrik Lundqvist made 28 stops.

The Jets will head home with a 4-1 record on this road trip and get ready to take on the NJ Devils on Thursday night.

FIRST PERIOD

Both teams were off to a fairly slow start through the first half of the opening period with shots well under the double digit mark through 12 minutes.

Dustin Byfuglien took the game's first penalty of the night for holding at 12:11. The Rangers weren't able to get much going on the power play and the best chance of the advantage went to Alex Burmistrov as he snapped a hard shorthanded shot right on net but couldn't beat Lundqvist.

Just after the penalty expired, the Jets were handed their own power play opportunity as Chris Kreider went off for hooking at 14:39. The Jets were able to get set up and find the net a couple of times but failed to capitalize on the advantage.

Through 20 minutes, the Jets and Rangers were still scoreless with shots favouring the Jets 9-7. Hits were 12-11 for the Rangers and face-offs were even 50%-50%.

SECOND PERIOD

The Jets opened the scoring at 5:55 of the second period after a handful of shots and some heavy pressure in the Rangers zone. Evander Kane tried the wrap around that didn't make it through and bounced right out in front where Olli Jokinen scooped it up and shoveled it into the open net.

1:07 later, Kane added a goal of his own after Anthony Peluso gave him a nice feed along the boards inside the Rangers zone. Kane turned and fired a beautiful wrist shot that flew past Lundqvist's shoulder and into the top pocket of the net. Jets lead 2-0.

Two and a half minutes later, Ryan Callahan cut the Jets lead in half. The Rangers won a clean face-off to the right of Pavelec which came out to the point for Eminger. He blasted a slap shot from the blueline that went off of Callahan's body and trickled along the goal line but did not make it across. He circled around to the other goal post to gather up the loose puck and pot the rebound.

Jokinen widened the lead with his second of the period at 14:48. Peluso drove to the net and fired a shot on Lundqvist that was kicked out for Jokinen inside the right circle who made no mistake one-timing the rebound top-shelf glove-side. 3-1 Jets.

After two periods, a couple of goals by Jokinen and one by Kane, the Jets were on top 3-1 and the shots read 26-19, also for the Jets.

THIRD PERIOD

The Rangers closed the gap at 9:17 of the final period after Taylor Pyatt connected with a perfect tip from an Anton Stralman shot from the point to make it 3-2.

20 seconds later, Kane regained the Jets two-goal lead when he charged across the blueline and blasted another wrist shot from inside the circle that flew past Lundqvist's shoulder high glove-side. Burmistrov and Ron Hainsey pick up the helpers on his 9th goal of the season.

Things were just starting to heat up as the Rangers answered back just under a minute later. This time Stralman found the back of the net after he potted the rebound from Marian Gaborik's shot. 4-3 Rangers.

As time ticked down in regulation, the Rangers pulled Lundqvist looking for the equalizer to force overtime but Pavelec shut the door and the Jet held on for the 4-3 victory in New York. With the win, the Jets wrap up their road trip in style going 4-1.

They'll take tomorrow off before they host the NJ Devils on Thursday night in Winnipeg.
