Jets 3, Flames 5

The Flames took control of the game in the first period scoring two power play goals and an even strength goal to go up 3-0. The Jets clawed their way back into the game scoring a pair of late goals but never could find a lead or even things up as they fell 5-3 to the Calgary Flames Friday night.

and Toby Enstrom were the goal scorers for the Jets. Mark Giordano, Jarome Iginla, Alex Tanguay, Curtis Glencross and Matt Stajan were the goal scorers for the Flames.
stopped 22 of 27 shots while Miikka Kiprusoff was excellent robbing 42 of 45 Jets shots to earn the third star of the game.
The Jets will head home to Winnipeg and have a few days off before welcoming another Western Conference team, the Dallas Stars. Game time goes at 7:30pm on TSN Jets.
took the game's first penalty at 3:27 of the opening period and the Flames made the Jets pay. Mark Giordano scored his seventh of the season as he blasted a slap shot from the point that made it's way through traffic and through the legs of Ondrej Pavelec

A few minutes later, with Tanner Glass
in the box for boarding, Jarome Iginla made it 2-0 Flames as Olli Jokinen found him in front of the net to tip the puck into the open net. Mark Giordano picked up the second assist.
Just past the midway mark of the period, the Flames were on top of the shot clock 12-6.
Matt Stajan added to the lead at 12:51 of the period from Jarome Iginla and Alex Tanguay. Iginla got the puck to Stajan who flipped it up and over Pavelec for his 100th NHL career goal. 3-0 Flames.
got the Jets on the board with 2:30 remaining in the period. Bryan Little
found Kane down low to the right of the net to put the puck past Kiprusoff.
tightened the gap to 3-2 as he took a nice feed from Grant Clitsome
at centre ice, danced his way around his defenders and snapped the puck right over Kiprusoff's glove with 27 seconds left in the period.
After twenty minutes, the Flames were up 3-2 but the Jets led 16-14 on the shot clock.
The pace of the game slowed down in the second period. The Jets were clearly playing a little bit more physical as they were out-hitting the Flames 12-6 by the midway point of the second period.
Alex Tanguay added to the Flames lead at 12:53 of the second period from Jarome Iginla and Matt Stajan. 4-2 Flames.
Time wound down in the middle frame with just the one goal by the Flames. The shots after 40 minutes were 28-23 Jets but the Flames led 4-2.
The Jets got their second power play of the night just under the six minute mark of the final penalty but the Jets were unable to capitalize on the advantage and they remained down a pair of goals.
Later in the period, the Flames picked up their third power play marker of the night to go up 5-2 just over the ten minute mark. Curtis Glencross tallied his 24th of the season from Tanguay and Jokinen as he put one past Pavelec glove side.

The Jets tried to claw back into the game late in the third but couldn't solve Kiprusoff. They dropped a 5-3 decision to the Flames Friday night in Calgary.
